Les Paul Electric Guitars
Les Paul was working with Epiphone when he made his first expriments with his "log" guitar in 1941. He said of this instrument "You could go out and eat and come back and the note would still be sounding." It wasn't until 1952, after further development at Gibson, and the Gibson Les Paul went into production.
There was some early changes, resulting on the Tune-O-Matic bridge and tailpiece and later the twin humbucker pick-ups we know today.
There have been many changes and special models over the years, some of the best remember being the Les Paul Standard in 1960, the Les Paul Custom 1954, Les Paul Junior 1954, Les Paul Special 1955, Les Paul TV 1957, Les Paul Deluxe 1969, Les Paul Personal 1969, Les Paul Professional 1969, Les Paul Recording 1971, The Les Paul 1976 and the Les Paul Pro Deluxe 1977.
There have been many more modern models, reissues and special issues over the years, right up to the present day HD 6X Pro Digital Les Paul, a marvel of modern electronics.
