Electric Guitar Effects
Nothing sounds better than a well tuned guitar, with new strings, just played in, ringing out loud and clear, you just can't beat it.
Well, maybe if we made it sound a little bit fuzzy, or distorted it a bit, wee bit of reverb, overdrive, echo, wah wah, delay, feedback, or any combination of these and many others. Electric guitars are just capable of such a fantastic range of sounds and effects, that we would be missing so much if we didn't have at least a few gizmos to distort and enhance the sounds.
Jimi Hendrix was one of the early exponents of the Cry Baby Wah Wah pedal, Peter Frampton and Slash used the talk box, to great effect, Brian May used feedback between his amplifiers and microphone to create his special sound, in fact whoever your favourite guitarist of whatever era, you can think of a pedal or other effect they have used to produce something just a bit special.
The good news is that much of the equipment which makes such a difference to the sound, needn't be expensive. Pedals aren't dear, and even the multiple effects electronic boxes such as the Zoom are remarkably affordable.
If you like, you can combine your own choice of pedals, connecting them with patch leads, to create your own special sound.
But nothing sounds better than a well tuned guitar.............. :-)
